$7 cash only. But worth it!
The best pelmeni I've had in years. Worth every cent! Very grateful it worked late, we really needed food and it hit the spot. And it had great service :)
I've loved this place since day one!! Keep it up and I'll keep coming back for sure!
My favorite comfort food, even of it's not served in the traditional Russian way! They spice it up with option curry, cilantro, and hot sauce. Great cheap lunch in a fun and quirky atmosphere!
Little dumplings with beef or potato. It should say enough that I brought some back to Anchorage, and TSA and rental car employees knew what I was carrying by smell (in a good way). Do yourself a favor and stop by.
Place is loud. If that doesn't bother you, perfect! If it does, you might not like dining in here. It's also small and not suited for large crowds of people. The food is decent and doesn't cost a lot of $$$.
Very good Russian dumplings at a good price.
Bomb! It’s a Juneau thing. You have to eat here. I’ve had dumplings all over the world. These were good. They have proper spice and they have a whole thing of sour cream waiting to top! Perfect
Food was really good. Counter service was friendly. Favorite thing about this place. Two things on the menu. That's knowing your product is what people want and not trying to cater to the chicken strip and jalapeno popper crowd.
Absolutely delicious Russian dumplings... which is my opinion as a foodie and the son of a chef, not as a Russian native. Friendly service. Unassuming digs. Decent portion for $7, but be ready to order two or three servings! I highly recommend getting them with everything (rice vinegar hot sauce, curry powder, and cilantro) plus a touch of sour cream.
Its was good I been going there for years and I love it so much and it's my favorite place In town and it's cheap
Throw on the extra sauce. Open late and tip the man for working so hard.
Honestly, I absolutely LOVE this place. BUT some time they skimp on the quantity of the dumplings & sometimes, they have poor customer service. It really depends on what time you go & who is working. Other than that, it is the best place ever too get Russian dumplings.
Absolutely delicious dumplings. Well deserving of the reputation it has in town. One word of caution, it's cash only so bring cash or take some out at the ATM at the center of the building.
Pretty delicious. Cheap quick bites to eat
The dumplings are cheap and delicious. With some Curry and cilantro they are well spiced.
The Juneau classic! Always hits the spot, especially late night after drinking 'resonsibly'.
An short menu that is not short of flavor and taste. Both the meat and potato dumplings taste amazing!
Best food in Juneau. I highly recommend the potato dumplings. The staff was really kind, and the atmosphere gave a cool, '90's grunge vibe
what an interesting vibe, this place. They have a wall full of records and are always playing oldies. The food was really good. I never really experienced Russian dumplings, but that was really really good.
Dumplings were delicious. Price was excellent. Seating was limited.
I love the place. I visit it everytime I'm downtown.
🍲Pel'meni has been a favorite of mine for at least 15 possibly 20years still always good every once in a while. Over time though they have really stopped getting their topping ratio right. Also they have changed bread over the years. If you miss the old flavor they do keep bottles of sauces on the counter. I always forget to add more sauce😔 Still tip your cook hes the only guy on shift and he gets slammed some times.🤣
Small seating space, but the food is good after grabbing some drinks and the wait time isn't too bad. It's popular among local teens and can be packed with them with no where to sit.
Although I miss my high school days of a decade ago when this dish was $5 a pop, I still frequent this place for their delicious dumplings. Although, it's sad that the size of your meal depends on who is working... in the past year I have got a low order of 9 dumplings and a high order of 20 dumplings, all for the same price.Come on guys, pack that Styrofoam to the max with those decadent dumplings... Your customers would come more often and appreciate the gesture instead of opening the box to find they paid the same $7 as always for half of what they should be getting.
Pel Meni is a classic establishment of Juneau, and the best dumplings in at least 3 states.
The meat ones we delicious. The potatoe ones were alright.
Easy, 2 options, dumplings with meat or with potatoes. All they serve other than sodas. Super spicy, comes with sour cream. They have a record player with vinyl. Cool atmosphere.
A good experience. I would cut back in the butter ( I know...who says that!!)
Really straightforward place, faster than most "fast food" but with a genuinely good and original take on russian dumplings. Because of it's hours Pel'meni makes a great late night cravings stop. I always order meat dumplings with everything and it's always perfect.
One word to describe this late night munchie food. FIRE! 🔥
they accept credit card now, which is awesome!! but it's always tasty and I've never had a bad experience there
Got the Beef ones with everything on them. Added a little extra hot sauce mix and some sour cream and it turned out ok. This is a great experience that I think everyone should try, but as it turns out, I dont love curry, maybe someday I will try them again without the curry.
Great food, open late
Pel'meni's (aka Russian Dymplings) is a MUST every time I go to Juneau! They are so addictive and delicious. It is a quaint little hole-in-the -wall place that serves a simple menu of either beef or potato pel'meni's at the small price of just $7!!! Ask for everything on it (cilantro, butter sauce, curry, and sriracha) or a variation of whatever you like. You get 2 containers of sour cream to pair with your dumplings, and canned soda, juice or bottled water available for $1. I can't wait to go back!!!
Fast good food I was thinking maybe you guys should make spicy butter too
I stop by here almost every time I am in Juneau. Very small place with hip feel and the best pelmeni I had anywhere including during my trip to Russia. Open late night after midnight is obviously huge plus.
In a word - unbelievable. This place creates one of those world class, simple flavor combinations that is as easy to enjoy as it is fun to examine. I'm not even sure exactly what I had, or if there are other options. I went in with a friend, and as she approaches the counter she just says "we'll have 2". 2 what? I have no idea, but the Pel'meni guy knew exactly what to do. We sit, and minutes later arrives a steaming bowl of a dumpling type soup. It doesn't look like much, but don't be fooled. Absolutely 5/5, best place I've been in Juneau
Everytime I'm in town i can't resist these wonderful Russian delights.
I'm not a fan of boiled bland beef covered with dough. Boring, boring. Topped with spices to burn the tongue so you wouldn't notice how bland it is. It's very popular with the young crowd, I don't understand the attraction, but I pass on this place. Tried it years ago when they opened, not impressed.
Never knew what Russian dumplings were...choice of meat or potato..you can have it covered in sriracha, butter, curry, and cilantro OR just butter and cilantro. Delicious!! $7 and remember cash, they dont take cards or checks
This is where I visit each time I got to Alaska + good food.
Delicious dumplings! Only two things on the menu: potato or meat, makes it easy to order. Make sure to add some of the house hot sauce.
During the Covid-19 re-opening stage they moved some of the condiments behind the counter so people wouldn't touch everything, which was great. The employee didn't have gloves or a face covering, but they did have all the chairs and tables stacked to the side and some social distancing markers, so some steps were still taken to protect customers. The food, as always, was delicious and only $7 each. A price they've held for years. While some places are charging $2.50 for just a can of coke, Pel'meni still charges only $1 for a drink. Fair prices and fast service, every time. One of my favorite restaurants in town.
2am food or an afternoon snack. Pel meni is delicious at any time of day. 🌙
I love the pelmeni here so much. They're amazing!!!
Great food! Reminds me of my grandmother's version.
Was really surprised by how good these dumplings were! I've never had Russian Dumplings before, and I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but turns out: these things are great! The curry powder and hot sauce combo make these dumplings nice and hot and mean! Made my mouth tingle!Guy making the dumplings was super nice as well!
Some of the best food and certainly best value in Juneau. Only one thing on the menu though. Meat or potato dumplings.
Food was literally amazing, but a girl had messed up on the count of money. We quickly told her she gave us back the wrong change and gave us 7 mor bucks making one of the pels free
I love off the beaten path dives. This one fits. Portions could be bigger, but it's delicious. They're Russian dumplings and you can choose meat or potatoes. Currently $7. They're a bit spicy, so stay away if you're sensitive...
